WHY US?

SMALL CLASSES

We guarantee to keep classes to a maximum of eight students. So often, classes tend to creep up to as many as twenty students with just one (yes one!) tutor, which is crazy. This means you won’t get anywhere near the level of attention needed to truly learn and make progress, which is especially important if you are new to makeup.  We are also aware that attending our courses is a big investment and like our students to leave feeling it was worthwhile.

TWO MAKEUP LOOKS PER DAY

Most schools operate on the basis that you have a talk in the morning and create a makeup look in the afternoon.  Not at TMS!  It is all “systems go” with us – a lesson and enough time to practice two makeup looks every day. Our ethos is simple - “practice makes perfect”.

TMS AFTERCARE AGENCY

Once you have successfully completed your course you will automatically be enrolled with our job agency. The agency was established to help students build up a portfolio by providing opportunities to work “on set” in production, commercials, fashion, short films and pop videos.  These opportunities go quickly and therefore we have a policy of first come, first served. The agency is always happy to give advice and help to TMS graduates.

DON’T BE FOOLED BY THE WEST END!

for our London  makeup courses, not being located in the West End means we can keep our prices down. Instead we're based in a beautiful photographic studio (Loft Studios) that shoots high end fashion for Net a Porter, Vogue, Marie Claire etc. With a healthy chic cafe on site for lunch, its also a great way to go over notes with fellow students.

LESS IS MORE

Other schools tend to use different makeup artists each day. Whilst this may sound a great idea, the reality is that it can become extremely confusing, because artists develop their own techniques and different ways of applying makeup. You could end up with tons of information but no idea which method is the correct one to use, when or how!

JACQUI MCELROY

You will be taught by TMS founder, Jacqui McElroy, a freelance Makeup Artist, who is working in the makeup industry mainly on commercials and music videos. TMS has found that by having just one tutor, their students finish the course feeling confident about applying makeup and with a good grasp of what is required to become a successful makeup artist.
