One Course, One Week…
This One-week course covers everything from Smokey Eye and Contouring to Bridal and Editorial makeup course. During the week students will achieve a solid working knowledge of makeup artistry and detailed and practical advice on breaking into the industry and be given expert industry tips and tricks. You can be a Makeup artist in 5 days!
SKIN CARE; INCLUDING PREP AND HYGIENE
Great makeup starts with great skin! Understanding different skin types & which products to use are key! You will also be taught how to maintain kit hygiene - essential in the makeup artist industry.
TOOLS OF THE TRADE; MAINTAINING BRUSHES, SETTING UP, BUILDING A KIT
You will be taught when and how to work with the many different brushes on offer. Using the wrong brush can be time consuming and potentially disastrous. Towards the end of the course, once you have had a chance to use most of the makeup on offer, we will go through the kit essentials including discussing ’steal versus expensive’ for those building a kit on a budget!
FOUNDATION; ACHIEVING VARIOUS SKIN FINISHES
Sheer cover, full cover, matt or glossy- we will teach you how to achieve the perfect foundation base & how to gauge when enough is enough. Applying the wrong foundation can end your career before it has started
CONCEALING AND CORRECTIVE MAKE UP
From dark circles to acne scars, tattoos, or bruises - you will be taught how to deal with these everyday problems. Easy when you know how!
CONTOURING, HIGHLIGHTING, BRONZING, BLUSHER
Strobing, highlighting & shading can hide or accentuate a feature. We will teach you the tips & tricks of these very important techniques. How to use various bronzers in creams & powders followed by different styles of blushers also in creams & powders
COLOUR THEORY
Choosing the correct eye shadow is daunting but once you know how, and the clues you should be looking for its plain sailing from there on. Laura Mercier herself kindly passed on her vital tips to us and during this section, we will pass them on to you. The same theory also applies to lips
WORKING WITH TEXTURES; POWDERS, CREAMS, PAINTS.
Eyeshadows, blushers, contour kits & eyebrow products all come in different formats. You will be taught about each of them - the best techniques to use, when, and which to choose..

Natural is certainly not boring! You will be taught how to make the most of your client/model using everything you've learned during the “colour theory” part of the course.
SMOKEY EYES
Creating a smokey eye is a TMS favourite. It is a part of Fashion makeup courses. You will be taught how to adapt a smokey eye for different eye shapes. small, big, droopy, hooded. There is something for everyone. The correct brushes & product selection are paramount to achieving a seamless, beautifully blended finish.
EYELINER TECHNIQUES
Jacqui was taught how to execute the perfect eyeliner flick by one of the top makeup artists in the industry. She will teach you the same technique as well as how to direct your client/model on where to look to achieve best results and how you can steady shaky hands.
FALSE EYELASH APPLICATION
Individuals, strip, corner lashes - where to trim the lashes & how to get them on!
LIPS
Big lips, small lips, uneven lips - we will cover all areas on how to apply lipliner & correct the shape along the way. You will learn how to apply lipstick & glosses to maximise the full potential of each lip shape. The finale in this section is the ‘Red Lip’. Think Dita Von Teese!.
BRIDAL
Would you be happy with being shown just one ‘Bridal’ look? A little secret … there is no such thing as a “bridal look!’ No one wants to look the same!! Jacqui has 15 years of experience doing makeup for brides & she will tell you that each has been different. This session is all about getting those brides to book YOU after they have had their trial session. No one teaches this area quite like TMS. You will not be disappointed!!

Here you will be taught tips & tricks on how to add definition & deal with areas that become problematic as we age, such as the eyes & lips..

Love or loathe the stuff you will have to work with this product. Follow our lead on how to control & create amazing glitter eyes, lips & eyeliner. This will be followed by a stencil tutorial & how to adapt them to fit around specific areas.
WORKING WITH PHOTOGRAPHIC, NATURAL LIGHTING.
Where you do your makeup is not always glamorous and where it is applied - in natural light or studio light - will effect how it looks on camera. In this section you will be given tips on how to deal with any lighting issues & Jacqui will share some of her entertaining stories about her past experiences.
MISTAKES
Yes, that’s correct MISTAKES! Everyone makes them -when the pressure is on and time is of the essence, and you have made a “boo boo”, how do you correct it? Or, the director has changed his mind, and doesn’t want smokey eyes rather, instead, wants natural & you have just 10 minutes to change a whole look. Don’t panic! We will teach you how to make changes & corrections in seconds!! This will be as invaluable and every bit as important as knowing how to apply makeup!
INSTAGRAM TO INSTA-GLAM.
Social media makeup is now more popular than ever. When Kim Kardashian posted a picture of herself in midst of getting her makeup done with highlighting and contouring cosmetics, everyone since has been scrambling to learn the technique.
This session will also cover how to achieve a flawless glowing sculpted base & how to master the key techniques used for creating a glitter-inspired ‘cut crease eye” followed by a dramatic instaglam brow. You will be shown how to do this using the best products as well as those all-important professional tools. Then it's up to you to add your own twist!
